I’m honoured to be invited to perform piano and voice at this upcoming concert. I also encourage you to explore the life and music of the newly rediscovered composer Gena Branscombe. Her works are a fascinating blend of Romantic and modern styles, and they continue to reveal new layers and depth to me each time I study them. It feels especially meaningful to discover a composer whose music I’m just getting to know, only to learn she was born and raised in the historic town of Picton. Having spent many summer days in Picton and Prince Edward County myself, this connection feels unexpectedly personal in the most special way.
